First toymaker to leave the US market

There are many who think the CPSIA will not affect the big retailers too much. After all Wal-Mart and other Big Box Retailers already test their products. The truth is the CPSIA requirements are so onerous and difficult that there are children's product makers that are pulling out of the United States completely. Who is Wal-mart going to buy from?

Anyway, toymaker Selecta will cease selling to the US market December 31, 2008. This directly affects 1,200 retailers who will be scrambling to find replacement product - a truly difficult, if not impossible task.

This legislation will affect every single one of you.
