So here is the sweater after ripping back to the yoke and restarting. Already the proportion is much better for me, so I am glad I ripped it all out. It took a bit of time to re-figure the lace pattern repeat, ripping out that first row of lace about 5 times. Once I got past that first row, the lace is much easier to knit the second time around. I can read the knitting to know where I am, so I've definitely hit the zen part of knitting - at least with this project.
